Former Malaysian Minister of Islamic Affairs Congratulates the Muslim Council of Elders on Its Tenth Anniversary


Datuk Senator Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri: The Muslim Council of Elders Has Succeeded in Serving Islam and Muslims and Promoting Global Values of Tolerance and Peaceful Coexistence Over the Past Ten Years


Datuk Senator Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, Malaysia's former Minister of Islamic Affairs, extended his congratulations to the Muslim Council of Elders, led by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Council, on the occasion of its tenth anniversary.


Datuk Senator Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri stated that over the past ten years, the Muslim Council of Elders has succeeded in serving Islam and Muslims, as well as in promoting the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence worldwide through numerous pioneering projects and inspirational initiatives aimed at building bridges of communication and enhancing dialogue and human fraternity.


He praised the efforts of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, and his wise vision, which contributed to strengthening the Council's efforts to consolidate the values of human fraternity as well as a culture of dialogue, and acceptance of others among different peoples and religions. He also commended the Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, for his significant efforts in achieving the Council's vision, goals, and exceptional accomplishments.


The Muslim Council of Elders is an independent international organization established on 21 Ramadan 1435AH corresponding to 19 July 2014. The Council aims to promote peace in Muslim and non-Muslim and to spread and enhance the values of tolerance, dialogue, and coexistence and is Chaired by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar. Its comprises a group of Muslim scholars, experts, and leaders known for their wisdom, justice, independence, and moderation.
