His Eminence Dr Ahmed El-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders has today met the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al as-Sheikh as part of his visit to Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, various issues were discussed including ways to serve and help Islam and Muslims around the world.

The Grand Imam also stressed that meetings and discussions among religious scholars are crucial to continue serving the Muslim world. He also pointed to such meetings and their galvanising effect in the face of the many challenges facing the Muslim world, which relies on its moderate values to gain strength.
