The Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, condemns the actions carried out by the Israeli occupation in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

The Muslim Council of Elders warns of the grave humanitarian consequences of the Israeli occupation's control over the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, which serves as a lifeline and a safe passage for humanitarian aid, as well as for the evacuation of the wounded and sick for treatment. This situation threatens a humanitarian catastrophe that endangers the lives of innocent civilians.

The Muslim Council of Elders reiterates its call to the international community to take serious and tangible steps to halt the aggression against the Gaza Strip and support the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
