Muslim Council of Elders Strongly Condemns Statement by Israeli Occupation Official on “Sovereignty” over the Occupied West Bank
The Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, strongly condemns the recent statement made by Yariv Levin, Minister of Justice in the Israeli occupation government, regarding the imposition of Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.
The Council firmly rejects such provocative remarks and all measures aimed at altering the historical and legal status of the occupied Palestinian territories. These actions constitute a grave escalation and a blatant violation of international legitimacy and UN resolutions. The Council warns that such practices risk further dangerous escalation and hinder efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.
The Muslim Council of Elders reiterates its call on the international community to take immediate and decisive action to halt the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip and to ensure the unimpeded entry of humanitarian and relief aid to innocent civilians. The Council reaffirms its steadfast support for the Palestinian people’s legitimate right to establish an independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital.
