Muslim Council of Elders Strongly Condemns Israeli Approval of 19 Settlements in the Occupied West Bank
The Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, strongly condemns the Israeli occupation government’s decision to approve and legalize 19 settlements in the occupied West Bank.
The Council affirms its unequivocal rejection of these provocative actions, which aim to alter the legal and historical status of Palestinian land. Such measures represent a dangerous escalation, a blatant violation of international legitimacy resolutions, and a serious undermining of efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
The Muslim Council of Elders renews its call to the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to end the suffering of the Palestinian people, which has persisted for over seven decades, and to uphold their legitimate right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
