His Eminence Allahshukur Pashazadeh, the Grand Mufti of the Caucasus and member of the Muslim Council of Elders stressed that the historic Document on Human Fraternity document signed in Abu Dhabi between His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church, and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb contributes greatly to promoting the values of dialogue, coexistence, understanding and mutual respect, especially during the challenging times that the world currently faces.
On the occasion of the International Day of Human Fraternity, His Eminence Allahshukur Pashazadeh commented, “This historically significant document fostered Christian-Islamic dialogue and elevated it to the highest level for the sake of humanity. To combat all manifestations of extremism, intolerance, bigotry, racism, and discrimination that jeopardize global stability and security, we urgently need to continue working together.”
The spiritual leader of Muslims in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus added, “The Document on Human Fraternity affirms that human life and dignity are among the highest values bestowed by Almighty Allah, they must be preserved not only by law and customs but also by universally shared moral principles.”
On the occasion of the International Day of Human Fraternity, Pashazadeh extended his deepest congratulations to all people and called for further efforts to stop wars and conflicts in favor of peace, harmony, and human fraternity as per the Quranic verse: “Cooperate with one another in goodness and righteousness, and do not cooperate in sin and transgression.” (Al-Ma’idah : 2)
