The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb has exchanged congratulations during a phone call on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. The pair prayed to Almighty Allah that these happy occasions and holidays bring goodness, prosperity, and blessings to humanity, and that the Islamic world be blessed with security, stability, and prosperity.

During the conversation, the Grand Imam expressed the appreciation of Al-Azhar and the Muslim Council of Elders towards the UAE's major international role under its wise leadership in promoting peace,fraternity and tolerance as well as its service towards causes of the Arab and Muslim worlds alike.

For his part, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed his appreciation for the Grand Imam's efforts in consolidating human fraternity and coexistence as well as Al-Azhar's role in serving the Muslim world and presenting the true image of Islamic teachings.
