The Minister of Tolerance of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan has met His Eminence Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders as well as His Holiness Pope Francis, Pontiff of the Catholic Church as part of the international prayer for peace initiative organized by the Community of Sant'Egidio in the Italian Capital, Rome.

The UAE Minister of Tolerance affirmed that the Grand Imam and the Pope have been firm proponents for human fraternity which promotes peace, cooperation, dialogue and tolerance among people, which in turn are the very same values that the UAE was founded upon.

For their parts, His Eminence the Grand Imam and His Holiness the Pope praised the UAE, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for its role in promoting the noble values of Human Fraternity around the world.
