The Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam has met the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Rebeca Grynspan with the two sides discussing potential joint-cooperation.
During the meeting, the Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in promoting investment in sustainable development regions and shaping the international investment environment in line with the United Nations' sustainable development goals. He affirmed that the upcoming World Investment Forum which will be organized by UNCTAD in Abu Dhabi in October can serve as a global platform for dialogue and in turn positively contribute to addressing urgent matters such as climate change.
Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Rebeca Grynspan expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, in promoting the role of religions in addressing global challenges as well as empowering and training young people to make positive contributions and change to their societies. Grynspan also expressed her delight at the upcoming Emerging Peacemakers Forum which will take place in July while affirming her appreciation for the values of human fraternity outlined in the Abu Dhabi Document on Human Fraternity, which promotes peace and coexistence.
