His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, extends his deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the Republic of Iraq, its government and people, for the victims of the horrifying fire that ripped through a wedding celebration in the Northern Nineveh province, which led to hundreds of casualties and injuries.

Furthermore, His Eminence the Grand Imam offers his sincere condolences to the families of the victims, praying to the Almighty, in His infinite mercy, to grant the departed souls peace, and to fortify the hearts of their loved ones, and to provide them with the strength and solace they need during this difficult time while wishing the injured a swift recovery. {To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return}.
