Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders Meets with the Chairman of the Kazakh Senate - The Pair Emphasize the Coordination of Joint Efforts to Promote Peace and Spread the Values of Dialogue and Coexistence


The Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, met with His Excellency Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to discuss potential ways to enhance mutual cooperation.


During the meeting, the Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders emphasized that the Republic of Kazakhstan serves as a leading model in spreading the values of peace, harmony, and human fraternity. He also pointed out the significance of the role played by the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in promoting dialogue and peace. He also stated that the Muslim Council of Elders supports these efforts and sees them as a crucial opportunity to work towards achieving global peace and countering all forms of violence, hatred, prejudice, and discrimination.


In turn, His Excellency Maulen Ashimbayev expressed his gratitude to the Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders for attending the 21st meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. He noted that the participation of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and the Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, in the seventh conference had a significant impact on the success of the conference. He also highlighted that the unique friendship between His Eminence the Grand Imam and His Holiness Pope Francis serves as an inspiring model for youth to emulate these two religious leaders in contributing to global peace.


His Excellency Maulen Ashimbayev further explained his nation's aspiration to strengthen cooperation with the Muslim Council of Elders in areas that promote peace and various youth initiatives. He pointed out that the opening of the Council's office in Central Asia is a significant step that will have a positive impact on the region as a whole and expressed his country's gratitude for the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, in promoting global peace.


The meeting was attended by His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Saeed Mohamed Alariqi, the UAE Ambassador to Kazakhstan, along with His Excellency Madiyar Menilbekov, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the UAE, and Darkhan Kydyrali, the former Minister of Information of Kazakhstan and current Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.
