Cultural Pluralism and Acceptance of Others - at the the Muslim Council of Elders' Pavilion of in the Cairo International Book Fair 2024

The Muslim Council of Elders' Pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair 2024 presents the book "Cultural Pluralism and Acceptance of Others: Their Role in Advancing Global Peace," written by Dr. Ghada Abdel Jalil Ahmed Al-Ghonemy, Professor of Creed and Philosophy at Al-Azhar University.

The book addresses several important questions, including: What is meant by cultural pluralism? What is meant by accepting others? What is meant by human fraternity? What are the aspects of accepting others? And what is the stance of divine religions regarding accepting others?

The book also reveals that diversity and differences are among the divine laws in Allah's creation and that differences do not prevent convergence, understanding, and mutual respect. Cultural pluralism, according to the book, implies mutual respect among individuals with diverse cultures and religions. This is based on principles of tolerance, love, equality, and coexistence within a cohesive society.

The book further highlights the active role and significant efforts of Al-Azhar in reinforcing cultural pluralism and accepting others and that Al-Azhar has taken on the responsibility of defending the principles of Islam, its tolerance, and its moderation.

The book consists of four sections, the first being 'Defining the concepts of cultural pluralism and accepting others and their manifestations', with the second being 'The importance of cultural pluralism and accepting others and their impact on peaceful coexistence', the third as 'The stance of divine religions on cultural pluralism and accepting others' with the fourth and final one being 'The efforts of Al-Azhar in promoting cultural pluralism and accepting others to achieve global peace'.

The Muslim Council of Elders' pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair features a diverse collection of publications, along with a series of seminars, activities, and events focused on promoting the values of peace and mutual coexistence among all humanity.

The pavilion is located alongside the Al-Azhar pavilion in Hall 4 at the Egypt International Exhibition and Conference Center in the Fifth Settlement in Cairo.
