The Muslim Council of Elders' pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair 2024 presents to its visitors the book "Comments on Some of What is Being Published and Broadcast," authored by Sheikh Ali Al Bulaqi, one of the scholars of Al-Azhar as part of the publications of the Muslim Council of Elders. The book consists of several critical articles that involve presentation, interpretation, analysis, and evaluation of some scientific and literary productions found in various books, journals, newspapers, and radio broadcasts. These articles were written by Professor Sheikh Ali Hasan Al Bulaqi (d. 1404 AH - 1984 AD) and are titled "Comments on Some of What is Being Published and Broadcast."
These articles were written as a series published in the pages of the esteemed Al-Azhar Magazine to raise awareness and enlighten society about what is being read or heard. The series comprises ten articles, discussing nineteen scientific issues from various linguistic, interpretative, modern, jurisprudential, and historical disciplines.
What distinguishes Al Bulaqi's writings in this book is the degree of freedom that a critical writer should enjoy when composing an article or forming a message. This freedom is significant no matter how vast the scope and extensive the circumference, as it has limits that should not be exceeded, along with rules that the writer should not override or alter.
During the presentation of these issues, Professor Al Bulaqi displayed the characteristics of a courageous researcher and a bold critic. He critiques the writings of prominent figures such as Al-Alusi, Al-Bayjuri, Al-Jazairi, and Ahmed Shaker. In the course of his discussion, he draws on diverse sciences, indicating the breadth of his readings and extensive knowledge. Additionally, he demonstrates proficiency in research tools in the fields of language, Sharia, astronomy, mathematics, and more.
The Muslim Council of Elders' pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair features a diverse collection of publications, along with a series of seminars, activities, and events focused on promoting the values of peace and mutual coexistence among all humanity.
The pavilion is located alongside the Al-Azhar pavilion in Hall 4 at the Egypt International Exhibition and Conference Center in the Fifth Settlement in Cairo.
