His Eminence Sayyid Ali Al-Amin, a member of the Muslim Council of Elders and the religious authority in the Republic of Lebanon, extended his congratulations to the Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, on its tenth anniversary.
In his statement, Sayyid Ali Al-Amin noted that over the past decade, the Muslim Council of Elders has evolved into a global institution promoting tolerance, openness, and dialogue, and has endeavored to unify the voice of the Islamic nation. He highlighted that the Document on Human Fraternity, signed by Al-Azhar’s Grand Imam, His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, and His Holiness Pope Francis, the Pontiff of the Catholic Church, is a beacon of hope for all humanity.
He expressed his best wishes for the continued progress and success of the Muslim Council of Elders in its noble mission of promoting tolerance, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence among nations, peoples, and different cultures and religions.
The Muslim Council of Elders is an independent international body established in Abu Dhabi on the 21st of Ramadan 1435 AH (July 19, 2014). It is led by His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif. The Council includes several scholars and dignitaries known for their wisdom, moderation, justice, and independence. It aims to promote peace in Muslim and non-Muslim societies and to spread values of dialogue, tolerance, and human coexistence.
