The Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders, Dr Sultan Al Remeithi has today met a delegation from a number of cultural and women's organizations from Tanzania a the Council's headquarters in Abu Dhabi. During the meeting, Dr Al Remeithi said,"The Council has undertaken a number of initiatives that promote peace and tolerance which include the Arabia Media Convention for Human Fraternity which produced the 'Media Code of Ethics for Human Fraternity' as well as being an integral partner in preparing the Human Fraternity Document which was signed by His Eminence Dr Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Council along with His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church."
For their part, the Tanzanian delegation expressed their interest in the council's activities as well as a willingness to learn from the council ways to promote social tolerance as Tanzania is known for its religious, cultural and racial diversity and coexistence.
