His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, received a delegation from the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat of the United Arab Emirates, led by Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, the Authority's Chairman.

The Grand Imam emphasized Al-Azhar’s dedication to enhancing cooperation with religious institutions in the United Arab Emirates. He praised the fraternal relationship he shares with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and commended the humanitarian efforts led by His Highness and the UAE across various regions of the world. He also stressed the importance of muftis and religious scholars addressing women’s issues with care, ensuring that cultural practices and traditions do not overshadow accurate religious texts and rulings.
