Muslim Council of Elders mourns passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan

Under the Chairmanship of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Muslim Council of Elders mourns the passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates who passed away after a decorated career in service to his people and humanity.

The Council pays tribute to the late President's commitment to the values of coexistence, peace, and love. Sheikh Khalifa followed in the footsteps of his father, the late founder of the United Arab Emirates His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose humanitarian services in the Arab and Muslim worlds - and beyond - were invaluable and left a legacy that continues today.

The Muslim Council of Elders extends its sincere condolences to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, as well as the late Sheikh Khalifa's family and the leaders and people of the United Arab Emirates and the Arab and Muslim worlds. May Allah have mercy on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and give his family consolation during this difficult period.

To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.
