Under the chairmanship of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Muslim Council of Elders congratulates His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on his election to the presidency of the United Arab Emirates.

The Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam said, "The election of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan - the patron of peace and human fraternity - to the presidency of the UAE represents an exciting new chapter for this prosperous nation and is a sign of peace and stability for the entire region."
