The Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders Dr. Sultan Al Remeithi has met with the Chairman of the Senate of Kazakhstan Mäulen Äşimbaev as part of the ‘Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions’ taking part in the Capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan.
The Senate Chairman praised the United Arab Emirates’ role in promoting tolerance and peace globally as well as adopting the Document of Human Fraternity, which was signed by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders and Pope Francis, Pontiff of the Catholic Church, in Abu Dhabi in February 2019.
For his part, the Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders, Dr. Sultan Al Remeithi, conveyed the Council’s gratification at the Republic of Kazakhstan’s concerted efforts towards promoting interreligious dialogue and tolerance among the many different religious and ethnic groups in the country. Dr. Al Remeithi expressed an eagerness to cooperate with institutions and authorities within Kazakhstan to achieve shared humanitarian goals.
Both parties also expressed their hope that the current dialogue taking part in Nur-Sultan will continue to strengthen cooperation between religious institutions and leaders while uniting efforts to overcome any possible challenges.
