The Muslim Council of Elders is to launch its inaugural participation at the Jeddah International Book Fair, which runs from Wednesday the 26th of December until the 5th of January 2019. This will be the fourth edition of the international book fair which will see a number of publishing houses from around the world take part.
Commenting on the Muslim Council of Elders participation at the Jeddah International Book Fair, the Secretary General of the Council Dr Sultan Al Remeithi said, “This participation does not only fall in line with the Council’s strategic goals and aims but is equally unique in it being our inaugural participation in Saudi Arabia. Under the directives of His Eminence Dr Ahmed El-Tayeb the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, the Council aims to take part in the most important events to unite the Islamic world by spreading its message and the tolerant values of Islam.”
The Secretary General added, “Choosing to take part in such an international book fair was made easy due to its growing reputed international standing. We are also very aware of the support given to such initiatives by His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al Faisal, adviser to the Patron of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Mecca Province.”
Al Remeithi concluded, “The Jeddah International Book Fair’s slogan, ‘The Book: Tolerance and Peace’ reflects Saudi Arabia’s reality as a land of tolerance and a beacon of peace.”
The Muslim Council of Elders’ stand at the Jeddah International Book Fair is set to see a large number of visitors as part of its inaugural participation in Saudi Arabia.
