The President of Senegal's National Assembly His Excellency Moustapha Niasse welcomed the Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam in the capital Dakar. Judge Abdelsalam’s visit aims to enhance cooperation between the Council and religious and community leaders in Senegal.
Niasse expressed his appreciation of the Muslim Council of Elders and for MCE Chairman, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb. The President of the National Assembly also said he would like to cooperate with the Council to promote Islam's true message of peace and coexistence in Africa and around the world.
For his part, Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam praised Senegal's efforts in promoting coexistence in the African continent. Judge Abdelsalam also thanked Senegal for the gracious welcome and reception and said he looked forward to cooperating with authorities in Senegal to promote coexistence and combat extremism.
