Muslim Council of Elders to take part in the Islamic Book Fair in Jakarta


The Muslim Council of Elders is set to take part at the upcoming Islamic Book Fair in Jakarta, Indonesia.  The 20th edition of the book fair will take place in the Jakarta Convention Center and will run from August 3 – 7 2022. 


As part of its extensive book collection on display, the Council’s stand at 20th Islamic Book Fair is set to feature ‘Al Qawl Al Tayeb’ by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders. Also present at the council’s stand will be ‘The Pope and the Grand Imam: A Thorny Path’ by the Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam along with over 100 publications published by the Council’s publishing arm, Dar Al Hokama Publishing. 


The Council is also set to host various seminars at its stand which will feature His Excellency Muhammed Quraish Shihab, Indonesia’s former Minister of Religious Affairs and member of the Muslim Council of Elders, Dr. Nazir Ayad, Secretary General of the Islamic Research Academy at Al Azhar, Dr. Nahla Al Saidi, Head of the Education Development Center for International Students at Al-Azhar along with Dr. Muhammad Zainul Majdi, former Governor of West Nusa Tenggara. Seminars include; 'Humane Aspects of Islamic Civilization', 'Principles of Acquaintance and Integration within the Arabic language and the Sharia' and ‘Human Fraternity Youth Majlis – Role of Youth for a Better Environment’. 


This is set to be the Council’s first participation at the Islamic Book Fair in Jakarta with its participating stand located in Hall A of the Jakarta Convention Center. The participations falls in line with the Council Chairman’s vision to promote peace, dialogue, tolerance and cooperation amongst people of different backgrounds.
