Grand Imam and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders during Prophet’s Birthday celebration speech: Prophet Muhammed’s teachings are humanity’s roadmap to redemptio

His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders has spoken during Prophet Muhammed Birthday celebrations about the need for humanity to adopt the Prophetic guidance of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) and other Prophets, which is particularly true with the moral degradation the world is currently going through.

The Grand Imam also pointed to mercy as a value that many people have lost today as a result of selfishness and personal desires as well as a forced liberation from religious values. This mayhem, the Grand Imam noted, can possibly lead humanity back to the Middle Ages.

The Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders pointed to the importance of stabilizing the social lives of individuals, and how this can only be achieved by Prophetic guidance. The same Prophetic guidance which calls for mercy for all humanity, particularly towards poor people and those in need. Mercy, the Grand Imam emphasized, must also extend to animals, plants and all living creatures.

The Grand Imam concluded by reemphasizing that Prophet Muhammed’s teachings are humanity’s roadmap to redemption. This particularly applies to Arabs and Muslims in the world, who seek to create contemporary societies that can grow and prosper.
