The Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam has described the upcoming ‘Bahrain Dialogue Forum: East and West for Human Coexistence’ which will run on the 3rd and 4th of November, as a message of peace to the rest of the world in light of global challenges facing humanity that require exerted and united efforts.
Judge Abdelsalam praised the Kingdom of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for its prominent role in promoting tolerance, national unity and coexistence. He also noted the Kingdom’s religious and cultural diversity which has made it a pioneer in supporting dialogue and the acceptance of others.
The Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders added, “The forum will be a landmark point in the journey of human fraternity, which began in Abu Dhabi on the 4th of February 2019 with the co-signing of the historic Document on Human Fraternity by His Eminence the Grand Imam and His Holiness Pope Francis. The world’s attention will be focused on Manama, as it hosts two of the world’s most prominent religious figures in His Eminence the Grand Imam and His Holiness Pope Francis alongside a large number of religious leaders as well as academic and media figures from around the world to discuss ways to promote coexistence and human fraternity.”
The Muslim Council of Elders is an independent international organization established in Abu Dhabi in 2014. The Council is comprised of various Muslim scholars, specialists and figures who are known for their wisdom, justice, independence, and moderateness. It aims to promote peace in communities by discouraging conflict and issues that lead to divisiveness while spreading the values of dialogue, tolerance, peace and coexistence.
