The Muslim Council of Elders Condemns the Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli Occupation’s Minister of National Security

The Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, strongly condemns the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli Occupation’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, under the protection of Israeli occupation police forces.

The Council reiterates the urgent need to halt these grave violations and provocative actions against Al-Aqsa Mosque. It calls on the international community to take immediate action to stop all forms of aggression against the Palestinian people and their Islamic and Christian holy sites, while ensuring respect for the legal status of Jerusalem.

The Muslim Council of Elders reaffirms its unequivocal rejection of all practices that violate international legitimacy resolutions and escalate tensions in the region. The Council further urges intensified efforts to achieve a lasting political solution, including an immediate and urgent ceasefire in Gaza, facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to innocent civilians, and recognizing the Palestinian people’s legitimate right to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
