Field Marshal Abdel Rahman Suwar al-Dahab

Field Marshal Abdel Rahman Mohamed Hassan Suwar al-Dahab graduated from the Sudanese Military Academy, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Military Science from Mutah University in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and obtained a fellowship from the prestigious Nasser Higher Military Academy (NHMA) in Cairo, a top-tier college for military leaders. His distinguished military career culminated in his roles as the General Commander of the Sudanese Army, then Minister of Defense, then President of the Republic.

After relinquishing power, he dedicated himself to voluntary work and Islamic charitable and relief efforts, areas he became deeply involved in through his extensive work in Da’wah and relief projects. He contributed to the academic and research fields, presenting over fifteen papers at various conferences and seminars. His research primarily addressed issues related to volunteer work and the Islamic Da’wah in Africa, through the international conferences he attended. He was one of the founding members of the Muslim Council of Elders established in 2014. He passed away in October 2018. May God have mercy on him.
