Former Chairman of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation and Former Chairman of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate

Mr. Makram Mohamed Ahmed


Mr. Makram Mohamed Ahmed was the former Chairman of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate and Secretary-General of the Federation of Arab Journalists. He started his journalistic career as an editor at Al-Akhbar newspaper, then became the bureau chief for Al-Ahram in Damascus, Syria, and later a military correspondent in Yemen in 1967 and head of investigative journalism at Al-Ahram. He ascended through various positions, eventually serving as Assistant Editor-in-Chief and subsequently as Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ahram. In 1980, he was appointed Chairman of Dar Al-Hilal and Editor-in-Chief of Al-Musawar magazine. He served as the Head of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate from 1989 to 1993 and again from 2007. He passed away in April 2021.
