He received his early education in Mauritanian *Mahdhars* under the guidance of his father before joining the Higher Institute for Islamic Studies and Research, where he earned a Master’s degree in Islamic Sciences (specializing in Fiqh and Usul). He has served as a professor at the University of Nouakchott and held several significant positions, including:
- President of the Supreme Islamic Council with the rank of Minister.
- Member of the Chinguetti Prize Council, serving as an Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic.
- Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Technical Center for the Training of Mahdhar Graduates.
- Senior Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic for the Islamic Affairs Cell with the rank of Minister.
- Chairman of the Supreme Council for Fatwa and Grievances, also with the rank of Minister.
He is also a member of several prominent Islamic bodies, including the Advisory Council for Maliki Jurisprudence in Al-Dalil (Dubai), the Islamic Fiqh Academy (Jeddah), and the Islamic Fiqh Academy of the Muslim World League (Makkah).
