His Excellency Prof. Dr. Bashar Awwad Ma'rouf
He earned his PhD in 1976 from the College of Arts at the University of Baghdad, with a thesis titled *Al-Dhahabi and His Approach to Writing the History of Islam*. He began his career at the University of Baghdad, advancing in academia until he achieved the rank of professor in 1981. His primary interest was in the study of Prophetic Hadith, dedicating himself to exploring its nuances, particularly in the fields of biography, narrators, and causes. He served as a professor of Hadith at several universities and was the founder and head of Saddam University for Islamic Sciences. He is also a member of various linguistic academies and Islamic councils.
