Patriarch of Babylon of the Chaldeans – Iraq
Patriarch Mar Louis Raphael Sako
Louis Sako was born in the city of Zakho - Iraq on July 4, 1949.
He was ordained a priest in the Chaldean diocese of Mosul, May 1, 1974.
He got Ph.D. in Theology from Pontifical University in Rome 1983, and a Masters in Islamic 1984, and later got a doctorate in ancient history of Iraq from the Sorbonne University in Paris 1986.
He was ordained a bishop for Chaldean Diocese of Kirkuk on Nov. 14, 2003.
He was installed a patriarch for Chaldean Church in the world on Mar. 6, 2013.
He published books and written many articles in different magazine & website.
