Prof. Dr. Asaad Kattan


He pursued theological studies in Lebanon, Thessaloniki, and Germany, earning a doctorate in Church History and Patristics from the University of Marburg in 2000. Since 2005, he has been the Chair of Orthodox Theology at the University of Münster in Germany. In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious Donohue Prize by the Institute of Oriental Studies in Rome, an honor given annually to distinguished scholars in the field.

His Arabic-language works include *A Sail in Round Eyes: Studies in the Thought of Bishop George Khodr*, *Their Silence Was Much Talk: True Tales from the Imagination* (Al-Nour Cooperative for Publishing and Distribution), and *Qasim Schneider in Beirut* (Arab House of Sciences-Publishers).
