Mayor Anne Hidalgo
A French-Spanish politician who has been Mayor of Paris since 2014, the first woman to hold the office. She is a member of the Socialist Party. She served as First Deputy Mayor of Paris under Mayor Bertrand Delanoë, in charge of urban planning and architecture, having held the title of Councillor of Paris since the 2001 municipal elections. She was re-elected in March 2008. In 2006/2007, the Mayor of Paris tasked her with preparing the Paris Climate Plan. In March 2004, she was president of the multi-party left list in Paris. From 2003 till 2008, she was National Secretary of the Socialist Party, in charge of Culture and Media. She was also Technical Advisor, then Special Assistant for Social Issues in the Private Office of Marylise Lebrancheau, Minister of Justice. She also served as Director of the National Institute for Labour, Employment and Vocational Training in Paris (Ministry of Labour) in November 1991.
