Program Coordinator for the Middle East at the World Council of Churches - Geneva

Mr. Michel Nseir


He has been with the World Council of Churches (WCC) in Geneva since September 2007, serving as the Middle East Programme Coordinator. In this role, he has developed peacebuilding projects related to the Israel/Palestine conflict and facilitated dialogue efforts in Syria. He has significant experience in working with churches across the Middle East.

Previously, he served as the Executive Secretary of the Association of Theological Institutes in the Middle East (ATIME) from 1998 to 2004 and was a lecturer at the Faculty of Theology at the University of Balamand from 1996 to 2007. He holds a Master of Theology from St. John of Damascus Faculty of Theology at the University of Balamand in Lebanon, as well as a Higher Diploma in Biblical Studies from the Institut Catholique de Paris (1987-1990). 

He also served as the Director of the Association of Protestant Students of Paris from 1990 to 1996. He was elected President of SYNDESMOS, the World Fellowship of Orthodox Youth, from 1989 to 1992, and Director of the World Student Christian Federation (WSCF) from 1992 to 1996. Born in 1961 in Beirut, Lebanon, he has a long-standing commitment to interfaith dialogue and theological education.
