His Excellency Dr. Basim Mohamed Al-Tuwaisi


His Excellency Dr. Basim Mohamed Al-Tuwaisi served as Jordan's Minister of Culture from 2019 to 2021. He earned his PhD in Media Studies from Cairo and completed his postdoctoral studies in media at the University of Florida. Between 2013 and 2019, he was the Dean of the Jordan Media Institute and Chairman of the Board of the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation (JRTV). He writes daily for Al-Ghad newspaper. He has been a member of the Supreme Council for Media and the National Dialogue Committee (NDC), he is the founder of Sout Al-Janoub Radio, and he is a member of the Royal Integrity and Anti-Corruption Committee.

His Excellency Dr. Al-Tuwaisi has published six books and numerous research papers in global scientific journals, focusing on media and development, media and reform, new media, strategic issues, and political anthropology. He is a founding member of various institutions and civil society organizations in Jordan.
