The Spiritual Leader of Muslims in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus Region

His Eminence Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh


His Eminence Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, the spiritual leader of Muslims in Azerbaijan and the wider Caucasus region, currently holds the position of Chairman of the Commonwealth of Independent States’ Inter-Religious Council, Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims’ Board, and Secretary General of Baku International Centre for Interfaith and Inter-Civilizational Cooperation (BCIC). 
He is also a member of several institutions and bodies, including the Muslim Council of Elders, the Board of Directors of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID), the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Presidium of the ‘Tagrib’ Committee of Convergence between Islamic Mazhabs. His Eminence has done much to promote interfaith dialogue, tolerance, and cultural diversity both in the Caucasus and around the whole world. He relies on his strong relationships with religious leaders worldwide and is considered a supporter of the unity of all traditional Islamic schools of thought.
