Director of Al Hokama Center for Peace Research at a Seminar in the Muslim Council of Elders' Pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair:

Islamic Heritage Contains Advanced Examples -By Contemporary Standards- of Knowledge Integration Among Sciences

The Separation Between Knowledge and Sciences Diverts Them from Integrated Sciences to Struggling Disputes

The booth of the Muslim Council of Elders at the Cairo International Book Fair 2024 hosted its fifth seminar titled "Knowledge Integration Among Sciences: Models from Islamic Heritage," by Dr. Samir Boudinar, Director of Al Hokama Center for Peace Research, and was moderated by Saad Al-Mat'ani.

During the seminar, Dr. Samir Boudinar stated that Islamic heritage contains advanced examples, by contemporary standards, of knowledge integration among sciences. He emphasized that this integration stems from the fact that these sciences trace back to a single source, revolving around revelation. This integration combines the gifts of revelation, reason, language, and observation of the universe.

Dr. Boudinar cautioned against the separation of knowledge and sciences, which leads to diverse arts and sciences struggling against each other, hindering renewal and intellectual exploration. He stressed the urgent need to bridge the gaps in knowledge between different sciences. He also criticized calls to marginalize heritage, pointing out that it contradicts the nature of science itself. Science is a series of linked circles where subsequent efforts build on the achievements of predecessors. Boudinar highlighted the richness of heritage, urging its utilization in our current era for the benefit of our nation and the world to which we belong.

Dr. Boudinar expressed appreciation for Al-Azhar's role in knowledge integration and that Al-Azhar established observatories and research centers in various languages to understand the realities of societies in their respective languages. He commended Al-Azhar for teaching introductory sciences to its students and issuing numerous publications on reason, philosophy, and ethical issues. All these efforts result from the integration of sciences.

He also praised the role played by the Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb which also includes individuals from diverse fields of sciences, knowledge, and specialties, along with statesmen and leaders from different continents, all contributing significantly to conflict resolution and peace promotion, providing real indications of knowledge integration.

The Muslim Council of Elders' pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair features a diverse collection of publications, along with a series of seminars, activities, and events focused on promoting the values of peace and mutual coexistence among all humanity.

The pavilion is located alongside the Al-Azhar pavilion in Hall 4 at the Egypt International Exhibition and Conference Center in the Fifth Settlement in Cairo.
