Peace Conoy to Kenya

Activities:

- Delivering a lecture to a group of female students at a development institution affiliated with the Kenyan Red Cross, in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

- Delivering a lecture entitled "Youth is the Pillar of the Nation," at Al-Hoda Mosque, the largest mosque in Kenya.

- The convoy headed to the Egyptian Embassy in Kenya, where they were received by Ambassador Hussein Rushdi, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy, Counselor Aktham Al-Halwani, Counselor of the Egyptian Embassy, and Counselor Mohamed Al-Gridly, Egyptian Consul in Nairobi.

     The two sides discussed the tireless efforts made by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and His Eminence the Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, to spread peace and strengthen Egypt's role in establishing strong relations with its African neighbors through educational and dawah missions and initiatives to eradicate the roots of extremism and terrorism.

- Visiting the "Mama Fatuma" Orphanage.

- Conducting live radio interview, via IQRA’A FM radio, a local station launched in 2001, which broadcasts to seven Kenyan provinces and is followed by a large segment of Kenyans.

- Visiting the University of Nairobi, one of the largest Kenyan universities, and meeting with Professor Ephraim Wahomi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and Professor Eribe, Head of the Swahili Language Department at the faculty. The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the University of Nairobi in spreading the teachings of tolerant Islam and peaceful coexistence.
- Delivering a lecture at Imtiaz Ali Mosque, in the center of Nairobi.
- Holding a meeting between the leaders of the Christian denominations and the senior bishops of Kenya, represented by Rev. Archbishop. Dr. Gerry Kibarabara, President of the African Council of Churches, Rev. Samuel Injirire, Archbishop of Kenya, Rev. Robert Mahiri, Secretary General of the Churches of Kenya, Rev. James Kamati, and Rev. Geoffrey Macharia.
- At Umma University, the first Islamic university in Kenya, several meetings were held, the first of which was with the University President, Professor Omar Edley, and the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia, Dr. Mohammed Karama.

- At the invitation of Umma University President, the convoy participated in the workshop organized by Umma university and the Catholic University of Tangaza in Kenya, entitled: “Interfaith Cooperation for Peace and Development.”

- Visiting the Grand Mosque in the center of Nairobi.

- Delivering a lecture at Al Noor Mosque.

-The convoy moved to the city of Malindi, and its activities were as follows:
- Participation in the interfaith dialogue session organized by the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims - Malindi Branch, which brought together representatives of religions and sects in Kenya.
- Meeting with the "Council of Teachers and Du'at" in Malindi.
- Visiting MEDA-F Foundation for Development and Training.
- Visiting Al-Muddathir House for Islamic Studies.

        Then, the convoy moved to Mombasa, and its activities were as follows:

- Visiting Al-I'tisam Islamic Primary School
- Visiting Ahali Khorfakkan Mosque, known as “Al-Azhar Mosque,” due to its establishment by one of Al-Azhar's graduates. The head of the convoy gave a speech entitled: "The Family is the Nucleus of Society".
- Delivering a lecture to a number of imams and teachers entitled: “The Role of the Imam and the Teacher in Guiding the Muslim Community.”
- Visiting the headquarters of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (Supkem) - Mombasa Branch.
- Meeting with the Kenyan Council of Imams and Preachers.
- Visiting the headquarters of the Generation of Peace Association.
- Delivering a speech at the Jandan Mosque, one of the largest and oldest mosques in Mombasa.
- Giving a speech at the Sheeb mosque.

- Visiting Al-Saliheen Center for Islamic Studies.
