His Excellency Datuk Senator Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, a member of the Muslim Council of Elders: Respecting cultural diversity contributes to building prosperous and tolerant societies

His Excellency Datuk Senator Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, a member of the Muslim Council of Elders, a member of the Senate, and the former Minister of Islamic Affairs of Malaysia, highlighted the importance of respecting cultural diversity in building prosperous and tolerant societies. He pointed out that diversity is an essential trait that demands our appreciation for cultural, ethnic, religious, and linguistic differences and encourages us to promote peaceful coexistence and collaboration among different communities and peoples.

In Episode Two of the "Humanitarian Values with the Muslim Council of Elders" program, broadcast daily throughout Ramadan on the Muslim Council of Elders' social media platforms, Dr. Zulkifli emphasized that embracing the concept of coexistence is crucial for fostering an open environment that reflects cultural diversity, ensures social justice, and addresses significant challenges faced by multicultural societies.

He further noted that Malaysia is a country characterized by its cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity, hosting various tribes and religions on its land. This diversity leads to cooperation in some aspects of life and its various fields, making Malaysia a prominent model of peaceful coexistence and positive cultural interaction in the world.

During the blessed month of Ramadan, the Muslim Council of Elders offers five diverse programs through its official social media pages: "Imam Al-Tayeb," "Humanitarian Values with the Muslim Council of Elders," "Month of Harmonious Coexistence," "Reflect on Your Fasting," and "Humanitarian Stories with Youth." This initiative aligns with the Council's strategy to leverage all platforms to foster peace and promote the values of dialogue, tolerance, and human coexistence.
