Dr. Mohamed Said Mahfouz


He holds a PhD in New Media from Royal Holloway University of London and worked as a journalist for the BBC from 2006 to 2011. In 2022, he won the Culture and Creativity Award from the British Alumni Association. He began his career at *Al-Ahram* in 1995, rising through its editorial ranks to become Director of the Al-Ahram Regional Institute for Journalism from February 2014 to May 2016, and later serving as Advisor to the Editor-in-Chief from October 2018.

Mahfouz's television career started in 1998 when he contributed to the establishment of the Nile Specialized Channels. In 1999, he moved to Abu Dhabi TV, focusing on investigative television programs until 2005. He has also worked for ONTV and CBC channels in Egypt, serving as Editor-in-Chief of ON Live Channel. Currently, he presents the *Al-Ashera* program on Extra News Channel and is the President of the Mediatopia Foundation for Training and Media Production.

He has held several advisory roles, including Media Advisor to City University of the Middle East in 1998, Content Development Advisor to the Arab Media Group in Dubai in 2005, a member of the advisory board of the Arab Academy for Science and Technology in 2017, and Advisor to the Editor-in-Chief of *Al-Ahram* in 2018.
