His Beatitude Patriarch Ibrahim Isaac Sidrak


He was born in Beni Shukr, Assiut Governorate, Egypt, on August 19, 1955, and was ordained a priest on February 7, 1980, for the Coptic Diocese of Assiut. He served as pastor of the Church of the Archangel Michael in Hadayek El-Qobba, Cairo, from 1980 to 1983. He earned a doctorate in dogmatic theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in 1988. From 1990 to 2001, he was the president of the seminary. 

On September 29, 2002, the Synod of Coptic Bishops appointed him as the new Bishop of Minya. He was later elected as the Patriarch of the Coptic Catholic Church of Alexandria by the Synod of the Coptic Catholic Church on January 15, 2013.
