His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al-Haddad


His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al-Haddad serves as the Senior Mufti, Director of the Ifta Department at the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, and the Chairman of the Higher Shari’ah Authority for Islamic Banking and Finance at the Central Bank. He is also a member of several bodies and institutions in the United Arab Emirates, including the Senior Scholars Council, the UAE Council for Fatwa, the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), the Shari’a Committee at the Zakat Fund, as well as being the representative of state at the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and an expert at the Islamic Fiqh Academy affiliated with the Muslim World League. 
Previously, he was a member of the Shari’a Committee for Classification and Control at the General Council of Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions, the Fatwa Committee in Abu Dhabi, and the Sharia Committee in the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments. He was honored by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for his effective role in promoting Islam’s tolerance and communicating moderate Islamic teachings and values.
